Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has been speaking about his young teammate Dan Crowley.
The 17-year-old is highly-rated at the Emirates Stadium and he has already scored 10 goals in 19 appearances for the Gunners at different age levels this season.
The former Aston Villa youth player is yet to make his senior debut for Arsenal, but it can only be a matter of time if he continues a rich vein of form that has also see him provide five assist in six recent UEFA Youth League appearances.
Arteta has watched him up close with the teenager taking part in first-team training, and the Arsenal skipper was impressed with what he has seen.
In an interview with Arsenal.com, the Spaniard said, “He has impressed me for two reasons.
“The first is of course his talent, but also he is gaining maturity, too, and if he keeps doing that then he can be a very good player.”
Arsenal have a number of exciting young players that manager Arsene Wenger has shown he is not afraid to call on when the time is right.
Gedion Zelalem, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Stefan O’Connor have all experienced first-team action this season and Crowley could soon follow.
As Arteta said himself, “He’s at the right club with the right people around him to guide him to become a very important player.”
