Video: Ex-Liverpool star Luis Suarez nets in 5-0 Barcelona rout

The Uruguayan was clearly relieved to get amongst the goals after a lean spell since joining his new club.

Barcelona got back to winning ways last night in the Copa del Rey, putting lowly Elche to the sword 5-0 at the Camp Nou.

The Catalan outfit were surprisingly beaten 1-0 last weekend by Real Sociedad, with rumblings of discontent under Luis Enrique emerging in the press.

In this routine win, former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez got amongst the goals, scoring his side’s second in the rout with this piece of individuality.

Neymar had opened the scoring on 34 minutes, before the Uruguay international reminded Reds fans just what they are missing this season with a sublime turn and finish.

Since moving to the Catalan club Suarez has struggled to find his best form and has only netted once in La Liga in nine games.

Ridiculous transfer rumours even emerged in Britain this week claiming that the tempestuous forward could even return to the Premier League, but this is simply not going to happen.

Alongside the skill and trickery of Lionel Messi and Neymar, it seems like it will only be a matter of time before the Suarez that English fans grew accustomed to starts to click into gear.

Barca host defending domestic champions Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou this weekend in La Liga, with the club’s supporters keen to see Suarez contribute more regularly with goals.
