Tottenham Hotspur record signing Erik Lamela says he is 'feeling better every day' as he bids to return to the first team.
The Argentine missed the stunning 5-3 New Years Day win over Chelsea with a calf injury, and is yet to prove his fitness.
The winger's comments are hopeful but non-committal, ahead of this weekend's match against Crystal Palace.
PremierInjuries.com list Lamela as having a 50 per cent chance of being fit, stating he is 'currently being assessed'.
Tottenham have the luxury not to rush him back, evidenced by their strong performance with him out of the side.
Andros Townsend featured in his place against Chelsea, and scored a confidence boosting penalty. With reports Mauricio Pochettino is impressed with the England winger as of late, Lamela is not guaranteed to go back into the team.
Lamela had featured in every Premier League game this season for Spurs until the Chelsea clash, and it would not be a surprise to see his rest extended so that he features on the bench even if he is fit, rather than starting.
