The Brazilian looks set to return to action at the weekend after fracturing his cheekbone against Yeovil Town.
Manchester United have of course had a string of injury problems this season and in the recent FA Cup game with Yeovil Town that did not change.
Rafael Da Silva and Luke Shaw both came off at half-time at Huish Park with injury problems, not unusual for the two players who have been ravaged by injuries this season.
For Rafael however, it was a rather painful problem.
The Brazilian fractured a cheekbone in the game and the injury was so severe he had to actually have an operation this week. He went under the knife on Tuesday, taking to Twitter after the problem to share that he was ok and could be back in training by today.
Operation was perfect back training normal on Friday very happy. thanks god for everything http://t.co/aclpJrilyW— Rafael da Silva (@orafa2) January 6, 2015
Well he is a man of his word.
Rafael has been spotted in training for Manchester United today and it looks as though he could be fit for the game with Southampton this weekend. However, he is likely to have to wear a mask.
United were also boosted by the fact Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind all trained today.
