Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that both Erik Lamela and Ryan Mason will miss tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
Argentina international winger Lamela has been struggling with a calf problem, while midfielder Mason has been affected by hamstring injuries.
Both the Spurs players missed Monday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Burnley at Turf Moor, and they will now sit out the game against Palace at Selhurst Park.
"They have no chance for Palace, maybe next week, but for Palace they are both unavailable,” Pochettino told Tottenham’s official website.
Algeria international midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is away on 2015 African Cup of Nations duty, which means that Pochettino will be without three of his key players against Palace.
Despite Tottenham have a large squad, missing Mason and Bentaleb is likely to have an affect. The duo have formed a formidable partnership in central midfield and have been key in Spurs’ recent positive results.
It will be interesting to see Pochettino’s starting line-up against Palace. Against Burnley, the Argentine played a number of his fringe players, but he is very likely to make changes again.
