Manchester City morning news: Barca to target Pellegrini, Lampard's agent clarifies future

Manuel Pellegrini

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

The Mirror has suggested Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is a target for Barcelona.

There is speculation over the future of current Barca coach Luis Enrique because of a public conflict with the club’s key player; Lionel Messi.

Pellegrini does have experience in Spanish football, but Enrique has only been in the job since last summer.

Frank Lampard’s agent has clarified the situation over his relationship with New York City, Manchester City’s sister club.

It was recently announced that Lampard would be staying at the Etihad for the rest of the season, much to the annoyance of those on the other side of the pond.

However, his agent, Steve Kutner, has revealed the midfielder agreed to join New York from July.

Yaya Toure has been crowned the African Player of the Year for the fourth year running.

Toure has been in decent form for the club so far this season after winning his second Premier League title in the last campaign.
