Long-term injury absentee Mesut Ozil confirms comeback with funny kitman Tweet

The German World Cup winner has confirmed that he is set to feature for Arsenal this Sunday.

For Arsenal players there is little doubt what the main topic of discussion has been this afternoon. The game with Stoke City on Sunday afternoon? Lukas Podolski's attack on Arsene Wenger in The Sun? No.

In fact the talk of the tape at Arsenal has been a new addition to Twitter, their kitman Vic Akers.

The former manager of Arsenal Ladies is the current kit manager at Arsenal and is a popular figure at The Emirates, as kitmen tend to be at Premier League clubs.

The likes of Aaron Ramsey for instance sent a Tweet to Akers while Mesut Ozil also welcomed him to the social network, but he also gave a hint about a potential return to action.

He sent this Tweet:

Ozil has been out of action since October and earlier in the day Arsene Wenger confirmed that Ozil was fit for selection against Stoke City at the weekend, although would not confirm whether he would start the game in his morning news conference:

"He will have training with the squad for the second time [on Friday], so he will certainly be available for selection on Sunday. Will I start him? I haven't decided yet."

Arsenal fans will hope that the record signing from Real Madrid returns from his latest absence in top form, after struggling in the weeks leading up to his knee injury.

As long as Akers remembers to hang up his shirt, Ozil should start to earn back his Arsenal fandom from Sunday.
