The Celtic forward has been discussing his manager's approach to the side's warm-weather training cramp in Gran Canaria.
The Norwegian took over at Celtic Park at the start of the current campaign, hardly enjoying the best of starts when the club failed to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League (twice!).
It was claimed, however, that Deila was hardly helped by the club's summer transfer business and he has since got the Bhoys winning more games in the Europa League and domestically.
Celtic, though, despite having a game in hand, are not currently top of the SPL and some recent results have gone against them this term.
Now, Deila has taken his players to Gran Canaria for a warm-weather training camp during the winter break, where friendlies against European opposition are also on the agenda. And forward Griffiths insists Deila wants his side to win every game regardless of context.
"The manager has instilled in us that we want to get the win whatever the game is, regardless of whether it’s a friendly or a mini-tournament such as we're in just now," Griffiths told Celtic's official website in Gran Canaria.
“We want to win and we want to win every game we go into, so today will be no different."
Whether this is just baseless talk or words to fill the time remains to be seen, of course. Both Griffiths and Celtic as a whole know they will be based purely on end product in terms of form and results.
But if the mentality is to win every game, Bhoys fans will certainly hope 2015 can promise plenty.
