Birmingham City have rejected a second bid from Championship high flyers Bournemouth for Tottenham Hotspur linked Demarai Gray.
Eddie Howe’s side recently saw a £1.5 million offer for the 18-year-old winger backed, with Birmingham well within their rights to hold out for an even higher fee.
Any of the sides that have been following him will now have to reassess the situation and decide whether he’s worth investing millions in, with Bournemouth currently in the driving seat as the only team to have made a formal offer.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool could compete financially, but they are under pressure to add players in other areas, while Palace could withdraw from the race to sign him with the fee getting too much.
Reports don’t name Birmingham’s top price for Gray, but for Bournemouth, Spurs and any other club, it’s a case of pay up or shut up.
