The Dutch supremo was being linked with a move to fill the vacant post at St James’ Park, but it now looks unlikely.
Following Alan Pardew’s decision to swap Newcastle for Crystal Palace, the North East club have been searching for a new manager.
Although the likes of Remi Garde and Paul Clement have been mentioned as potential new coaches, Frank de Boer’s name has also popped up in press reports.
Despite previously admitting that he was drawn to the Premier League when being linked to Tottenham in the summer, De Boer’s agent has poured cold water on his client’s chances of taking over at St James’ Park.
“That would not happen anyway, 100 per cent,” agent Guido Albers told Algemeen Dagblad.
“Frank will finish the season at Ajax.”
In little of the revelation, Newcastle are seemingly likely to look elsewhere for Pardew’s replacement as they need a new man in the hotseat sooner rather than later.
De Boer’s record of success is under danger this season as his Ajax side are up against a supremely talented PSV Eindhoven outfit in the race for the Eredivisie title.
