Liverpool's official Twitter account has posted up a short video of captain Steven Gerrard scoring a screamer in a small-sided match at their Melwood training ground.
The 34-year-old latched onto a headed clearance from Martin Skrtel and hit a long-range half-volley that dipped over the goalkeeper.
Supporters will not be too surprised to see the veteran midfielder scoring a goal very similar to those he has put away so many times in his distinguished professional career; they might be more surprised that it came with his weaker left foot though.
After loyally serving and leading the club for the past 17 years, Gerrard recently announced he will be joining MLS side LA Galaxy when his Anfield contract expires at the end of the season.
Reaction to his impending departure has been mixed with some wishing he would retire with the club, and others relieved that he will go out while still performing at a decent level.
Gerrard may not have the energy of his younger self anymore, but the fact that can still pull-off brilliant goals like the one above and that he is Liverpool's top scorer with nine goals this season, shows that he hasn't lost too much in terms of technical ability.
