Arsenal legend Ian Wright jokingly urges Wenger to move for Barcelona star

Luis Suarez scores against England

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has tweeted that Arsene Wenger should bid for Luis Suarez.

It is never likely to happen, but Gunners hero Ian Wright has taken to Twitter to humorously ask his former boss Arsene Wenger to make an audacious £80 million bid for former Liverpool striker Suarez.

Suarez signed for Barcelona for £75 million in the summer after a tremendous farewell season with Liverpool last year.

However, reports in the Daily Express today optimistically suggest that the Uruguayan could be unsettled in Catalonia and that a number of Premier League giants, including Arsenal, are circling.

Arsenal have held strong interest in Suarez in the past and made all the headlines when Wenger made a bid of £40 million and one pound ahead of the 2013/14 season.

Wright's tweet has sparked a number of responses from his followers, some telling him it's not April Fool's day, while others joked Wenger should bid £80 million plus one pound.

It's wishful thinking that Suarez would ever move back to England, let alone Arsenal, especially considering the way he was hounded out of the country by the British media.

Also, Arsenal supporters will be hoping that their French manager is targeting the defensive minded players that they are currently crying out for.
