Aaron Lennon is the only player Tottenham Hotspur will let go this month - report

Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon has been linked with a move to Everton in the January transfer window.

Aaron Lennon is the only player Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell this month, according to a report.

North London club Tottenham have been reported to be busy in the January transfer window, with various reports suggesting that they will let some of their fringe players go.

Spurs are also expected to make signings in order to replace those who will leave, but a new report claims that they will not be busy this month.

According to Sky Sports, former Leeds United winger Lennon, who has been linked with a move to Everton, “is the only Tottenham player, if any, that could leave in January”.

Sky’s claim will come as a surprise to many, especially as it has been widely reported that a number of players will be sold this month.

The likes of Younes Kaboul, Vlad Chiriches, Paulinho, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kyle Naughton and Andros Townsend have all been linked with moves away.

Perhaps Tottenham want to keep hold of the fringe players as they are challenging in four different competitions this season.

A massive clear-out is going to reduce the strength and depth of the squad, and is only going to weaken the team.

There is little doubt that some of the Tottenham players are not good enough to play for a top-four chasing team, but perhaps manager Mauricio Pochettino has no other alternative.
