Tottenham defender Grant Hall joins Blackpool on loan, reunites with Lee Clark

Tottenham have loaned promising young defender Grant Hall to Championship strugglers Blackpool.

Hall, 23, joined Spurs from Brighton back in 2012, and enjoyed a productive loan spell with League One side Swindon Town last season.

However, his time at Birmingham CIty this term hasn't been quite so successful, with the Blues terminating his season-long loan deal almost six months early.

Deemed as a big reason for Birmingham's 8-0 loss to Bournemouth earlier this season, Hall hasn't played since that day in mid-October, but has immediately been loaned out again by Spurs.

Hall has signed a loan deal with Championship bottom club Blackpool until the end of the season, meaning he reunites with his former Birmingham boss Lee Clark, who signed him last summer.

"He's a terrific young pro, a centre-half with pace who is comfortable on the ball," Clark said. "He's thought of highly at Spurs and when I heard that he wasn't staying with Birmingham on loan I made a move to bring him in."

"It was important that we did because we've lost Donervon Daniels, so hopefully we'll see the best of Grant playing for Blackpool in the second half of the season," he added.

Blackpool sit bottom of the Championship with just 14 points from 24 games, and are nine points adrift of safety. With 41 goals conceded, Clark will certainly be hoping that Hall can help tighten up the Tangerines backline.
