Fernando Torres didn't make the impact he would have hoped for in his first game back at Atletico Madrid, but the experience was enjoyable.
Torres has arrived back at Atletico, the club where he made his name, on loan from AC Milan, who signed him from Chelsea.
The Spaniard was once one of the most feared strikers in Europe, but he is currently on a lengthy slump and trying to rebuild his career.
The crowd gave Torres a warm welcome as he started for Atletico against rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey and his side triumphed 2-0, but the ex-Liverpool striker had an unproductive game.
Despite spending much of the game chasing shadows, Torres had a positive evening.
"It's a day to celebrate lots of things. Beating one of the strongest teams in the world and keeping a clean sheet is great and will give us confidence for the second leg.
"The Calderon Stadium always makes me very emotional."
