Super Mario Bros. to join the Puzzle & Dragons trend

Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros 1

Mario and friends are being mashed together with the Puzzle & Dragons franchise.

Super Mario is joining in with the Puzzle & Dragons game over in Japan. The successful Japanese mobile developer, GungHo Online Entertainment, and Nintendo announced the mash-up yesterday.

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition combines the Puzzle & Dragons gameplay of the mobile apps with the characters and aesthetics of the Mushroom Kingdom. The game is set to be released on 29th April on Nintendo 3DS in Japan for about $33 (4,000 yen).

Puzzle & Dragons on iOS and Android pulls in around one billion dollars a year, and over 10 percent of Japan's population play the game, so it's no surprise Nintendo want to get in on the action.
