Report: AC Milan CEO hints Suso may remain a Liverpool player

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani's comments indicate Suso may remain a Liverpool player until the end of the season

The 21-year-old Spaniard, who is out of contract in July, has been linked with a loan move to AC Milan, but may have to wait until the summer before he gets his transfer to the Italian giants.

Talking to AC Milan’s official club website, Galliani admitted: ‘’I’ve known him since he played for Spain’s Under-19 team.

‘’His contract runs out in the summer and he is keen to join us. It’s a viable hypothesis from July 1 when his contract with Liverpool expires.’’

Although rumours that the midfielder has agreed a four-year-deal with Milan have surfaced, the comments by the Milan supremo indicate those reports are premature.

The 70-year-old indicated Milan won't make a move on the player until the end of the season, insisting that no deal for the player has already been done.

The creative midfielder, who Reds fans have backed, is not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans as shown by the fact he has only made one appearance this season, in the Capital One Cup, where he scored despite only playing 23 minutes.

Since then, although he has struggled with a groin injury, he has not been selected for a matchday squad and hasn’t been involved with the Under-21 side, leaving his long-term future at the club looking bleak.

Although it looks possible Suso could remain a Red until the end of the season, the likelihood of him signing a new deal at Anfield looks almost nil.

It's definitely a case of when, not if, the player will leave the club.
