It is being reported that Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah will be staying at Chelsea rather than heading out on loan this month.

Mohamed Salah has no shortage of potential suitors looking for a loan deal, but it looks increasingly likely that he will be staying at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho is known for his mind games, but it seems that the Special One was telling the truth when he stated emphatically that Salah wouldn't be farmed out.

A number of teams have been eyeing Salah, including Italian side Inter, Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland, but it is understood that Chelsea want to keep him around.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats have not held any new talks over Salah because they know a loan isn't possible.

The 22-year-old hasn't had many chances to shine since signing for Chelsea a year ago, but it appears that he will have to make do with sporadic opportunities for the rest of this campaign.

Sunderland are looking for loan additions as they prepare for a possible relegation battle and the focus seems to be on attacking additions despite links with Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

Gus Poyet has hinted as a loan arrival, but as yet it is not clear who he is pursuing.
