The 16-year-old Norwegian is all set to join Real Madrid this week.
Martin Odegaard has been thrust into the spotlight recently. It came after the incredibly talented 15-year-old made his Norway debut against the United Arab Emirates on the 19th August, becoming Norway's youngest ever player.
He made his debut for Stromsgodset back in April, and is being dubbed the 'Norwegian Messi'.
Of course that tag was always going to attract attention. He had already been with Bayern Munich and Manchester United for short training stints before his name became well known.
United are believed to still be keen on the player while Liverpool are said to be on the prowl.
In fact he attended Melwood earlier this month, training with the team and going for dinner with some of the stars. He has had similar visits reported at Real Madrid, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund - so it is fair to say that he is one of the most wanted men in football right now.
The likes of Celtic and Hoffenheim have also made their interest clear and he is currently training with the German champions. Meanwhile Premier League sides United and Liverpool were not alone, Manchester City, Arsenal and Southampton were all also keen.
But the talented young man has now made his decision, he will join Real Madrid.
Yesterday he trained with the club's B team, under the watchful eye of Zinedine Zidane and in time is expected to sign on the dotted line of a transfer from Godset, believed to be in the region of an initial £4 million.
And photos from yesterday's game between Real and rivals Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey will only help fule the rumours further.
Odegaard was spotted soaking up the atmosphere at the Vicente Calderon as Real were defeated 2-0 by their local rivals.
It seems as though Liverpool and Manchester United have definitely missed out on their man.
