Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce has confirmed he has enquiries in to make new signings.
The manager was speaking at a press conference after announcing the signing of Todd Kane on loan from Chelsea.
He said, quoted by the club's official website: "We hope to bring one or two other fresh faces in but we’re waiting for phone calls back at this moment in time."
Pearce add, explaining the Kane deal: "We’ve had two full backs leave in Jack Hunt and Dan Harding so we’re pleased to have him here. He’s a good age – we think he’s learning and improving as a footballer. It’s a great opportunity for himself and for us."
The good news is Forest have been able to sign a player from a top Premier League club, and put any bad relations with Chelsea owing to the previous Nathaniel Chalobah behind them.
Deals are starting to happen, with Sheffield Wednesday signing Lewis Baker earlier today and Rotherham adding Jack Barmby, both on loan.
Forest can only sign players on loan this window thanks to the transfer embargo placed on them by the Football League.
After an impressive start to the season, Forest sit outside the top 10 in the Championship.
