Coutinho wins player of the month
The diminutive playmaker has impressed over the last month, especially against Arsenal, where he scored the opening goal and was a constant menace throughout.
After a difficult start to the campaign, Coutinho is getting back to his best, and was delighted that his performances were recognised with the award.
"It means so much. As I always say, it gives me even more confidence to deliver on the pitch knowing that I've been voted by the fans. It is very important to me," said the Brazilian.
"We had a lot of games in December and I had the opportunity to play regularly. I want to keep improving every game to help the team as much as I can. I'm always keen to improve and do my best to help Liverpool," he added.
Rodgers a fan of 'outstanding' Milner amid transfer speculation
With Steven Gerrard set to join Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer, manager Brendan Rodgers must try to find a replacement for the captain in midfield.
Recent reports have suggested that Manchester City's James Milner is a potential target for the Reds, and Rodgers admitted that he's a fan of the England international - though wouldn't comment on whether Liverpool will try to sign him.
"James is a wonderful player," said Rodgers. "He's been an outstanding footballer since the time I saw him at Leeds as a young player. Players get linked with this club consistently - whether it's through agents or representatives trying to, by virtue of association, get a better deal at another club or get something by other means."
"I would never speak about another player until they were signed and in the door. You could probably fire a whole list of names at me and you would get the same response," he continued.
Reds could miss out on goalkeeper target
With Simon Mignolet dropped in December and only reinstated in goal when his replacement Brad Jones suffered an injury, Liverpool will surely try to sign a new goalkeeper this month.
Fiorentina's Neto has been touted as the top target for Rodgers, and the Brazilian revealed last weekend that he will be leaving the Italian club at the end of his contract this summer.
Liverpool were then considered to be the favourites for his signature, but reports today suggest that the 25-year-old has a verbal agreement with Juventus - which would leave the Reds to look for an alternative.
