The developers have also donate £22,750 to charity too.

Left 4 Dead developers, Turtle Rock Studios, announced today that their latest game - Evolve - has "gone gold", meaning it's now complete and ready to be shipped.

In celebration of such a milestone the devs have released the opening cinematic to the game, which you can watch below.

Turtle Rock Studios also announced today that in their quest to raise money for the videogame-themed charity, Child's Play, they set out to grow their beards and hair until Evolve passed certification. They said that $50 would be donated to the charity per inch of beard grown and cut.

Following the game going gold the devs have now shaved their faces, with a total of 227.5 inches of beard cut, meaning $11,375 was raised. Evolve publishers, 2K Games, matched Turtle Rock's donation, meaning the total is now $22,750.

The developers that shaved their heads donated the hair to Locks of Love, a charity which gifts hair to kids suffering with diseases which cause them to lose their hair.

Evolve is due for release on 15th February 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
