A fan won a draw in December for funds to be allocated to the club, which can be spent on loan player wages - allowing Forest to make additions despite their current ban on making permanent transfers.
Keen to make a big deal of it, those involved insured Kane was kitted out in a red polo shirt with a SkyBet Transfer Fund logo emblazoned on it, and even having his name replaced on the back of the shirt he held up.
It prompted one Forest fan to describe him as looking like he was wearing a uniform for Alton Towers, and the theme park saw the funny side, responding via Twitter.
@richardmarsh87 Please can you tell him to head back, we wondered where he got to!— Alton Towers Resort (@altontowers) January 8, 2015
...And this is the point where we make a lame pun about Nottingham Forest's rollercoaster of a season so far...
