Rotherham and Leeds battle for Becchio

Leeds United could face competition from Rotherham United if they do try to sign Luciano Becchio, according to the Yorkshire Post.

Leeds are keen to bring Becchio back to Elland Road, but the Millers, where the Argentine striker was loaned earlier in the season, are also interested in acquiring his services.

Mattock out

Sheffield Wednesday defender Joe Mattock could miss the next two weeks of action after picking up a groin injury.

Mattock, who has been a virtual mainstay in the Owls side this season, damaged his groin during the side's match against Wigan Athletic in December and it seems he could be out for some time yet.

“Joe has a grade one groin so it’s probably ten days to two weeks," Mattock's manager, Stuart Gray, told the Sheffield Star

Sheffield United are reportedly set to launch an ambitious bid to try and bring Dundee United forward Gary Mackay-Steven to Bramall Lane.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blades have identified Mackay-Steven as the man to solve their striking problems and they will make an offer this month.
