United transfer news: Midfielder reportedly decides; De Gea contract making headlines

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have not had any contact with the representatives of Martin Odegaard since he visited the club.

The Norwegian teenager is one of the hottest properties in European football and he is said to be wanted by the great and the good of the game, but the latest report claims United are in the dark as to where he may end up.

United were tipped to move for him on transfer deadline day back in September, but it now appears they may have missed out.

That is if you believe the latest reports coming from Spain and reported by Inside Futbol.

They claim Odegaard is on the brink of signing for the European champions after visiting the club on Tuesday.

And finally, Spanish newspaper El Confidencial is once again commenting on David de Gea’s contract situation at United.

The broadsheet often publishes stories linking the goalkeeper with a move to the Bernabeu, and the latest suggestion is that Real’s back-up ‘keeper Keylor Navas must show he has what it takes to succeed and thus prevent the Spanish side making any move for De Gea.

As long as the young stopper fails to sign a new deal at Old Trafford, expect these rumours to continue.
