Transfer Clock: Arsenal linked to Cech, Leeds to miss out on Ilicic, Bony nears City switch

Petr Cech

Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds, Manchester United and Manchester City feature...

25 Days to go until the transfer window opens, here are a few of the developing stories...

Arsenal eye Cech

Arsenal are determined to sign Petr Cech this summer, report The Telegraph. The Chelsea goalkeeper remains in contract, but Jose Mourinho is not thought to be worried about him joining a rival club, just like permitting Juan Mata to sign with Manchester United. Arsene Wenger is less than enthused with current stopper Wojciech Szczesny for both on and off field reasons. The paper claim Cech could be sold for as little as £5 million and is keen to stay in London.

Leeds to miss out on Ilicic

Leeds United are resigned to missing out on Josip Ilicic, with the attacker coming close to signing a deal to move to Bologna. Ilicic is out of favour at Fiorentina and a loan deal is on the table from their fellow Serie A side. TMW report the Slovenian international could sign until the end of the season with a five million Euro option to buy.

United unconvinced on Falcao

Radamel Falcao said today he was loving life at Manchester United, but a permanent deal is far from guaranteed. The Manchester Evening News writes that he is 'struggling' to convinced the club he is worth the investment, and must 'do something sensational' in the second half of the season to turn it around.

Bony nears City switch

Wilfried Bony is very close to sealing a transfer to Manchester City, report SkySports. The Ivorian's agent confirmed this evening talks are ongoing for the player, and he hoped the transfer would be 'sorted out within days'. The blockbuster transfer is reported to be in the region of £30 million, but crucially gives Swansea plenty of time to spend the cash, with Tottenham's Kyle Naughton expected to be one of the first in.
