Swansea City leading race for Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Naughton - report

Swansea City are reportedly set to sign Kyle Naughton from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported transfer fee of £4 million.

Swansea City are leading the race for Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Naughton, according to a report.

The Swans have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old for some time, and it has now been claimed that they have moved to the front of the queue.

ESPN reports that “Swansea have emerged as favourites to secure the defender's signature” despite the interest of fellow Premier League clubs Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

Full-back Naughton has struggled for playing time so far this season, and with the ‘return’ of DeAndre Yedlin from his loan spell at Seattle Sounders, he is now deemed surplus to requirements.

According to The Daily Mail, Swansea will pay Tottenham a transfer fee of £4 million for the services of the former England Under-21 international.

It appears that Spurs are happy with the money they are getting for Naughton, who himself will probably be delighted at the prospect of getting some more playing time.

Naughton has played just five times in the Premier League this season, and his likely departure to Swansea should suit all parties concerned.
