Winston Reid proved why the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all reported to be so keen on his signature on Tuesday night with another solid performance in West Ham United’s 1-1 draw at Everton in the third-round of the FA Cup.
Centre-back partner James Collins had given the Hammers the lead in the 56th-minute from Morgan Amalfitano’s corner, before Romelu Lukaku’s late strike spared the home side a fifth successive defeat.
Nevertheless, despite the 92nd-minute equaliser, Reid himself didn’t put a foot wrong all game, winning a match-leading five aerial duels against the imposing Lukaku, as well as making an impressive 12 clearances over the course of the 90 minutes.

Reid has made 125 total appearances for West Ham since arriving from Danish club FC Midtjylland in August 2010, following an impressive World Cup campaign with New Zealand, and was named Hammer of the Year for the 2012-13 season after helping his side to a 10th-place finish in their top-flight return.
However, with his contract set to expire in the summer, manager Sam Allardyce has conceded that he expects his star defender to leave the club, telling BT Sport after the match at Goodison Park: "It's an ongoing situation, ongoing scenario with the club.
"It's neither one way nor the other as far as Winston is concerned but we just have to wait and see.
"Like every player, he is in the driving seat."
With Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all after defensive cover this month, Reid could well be on the move in the coming weeks, although it remains to be seen what kind of fee West Ham will demand for his services.
