Predicted Everton and Manchester City line-ups: Stones and Lampard to start

Match to be played on Saturday 10th January 2015 at 15:00. Venue: Goodison Park, Liverpool.

Everton take on Manchester City at Goodison Park on Saturday with the Toffees desperate to turn their recent poor form around.

Roberto Martinez’s side are currently 13th in the table having lost their last four Premier League matches, while City are currently second on goal-difference.

Everton snatched a last-gasp equaliser in the FA Cup against West Ham United earlier this week but they now have to continue that fighting spirit against the reigning champions, who will have one eye on possibly reclaiming top spot depending on how Chelsea fare against Newcastle United.

Everton injury concerns: James McCarthy has a hamstring injury but has a 50 per cent chance of making it. Sylvain Distin is expected to overcome a groin injury while Leighton Baines should feature despite a recent knock.

Everton absences: Goalkeeper Tim Howard is out with a calf injury while Tony Hibbert, Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar and Darron Gibson remain side-lined.

Manchester City injury concerns: Vincent Kompany is struggling with a hamstring injury.

Manchester City absences: Yaya Toure is unavailable due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. Matija Nastasic is out with a muscle problem while strikers Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero remain on the side-lines.

Predicted starting line-ups:

Everton – Robles, Coleman, Jagielka, Stones, Baines, Besic, Barry, Mirallas, Barkley, Naismith, Lukaku

Manchester City – Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Mangala, Clichy, Fernandinho, Lampard, Navas, Silva, Nasri, Jovetic
