Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj is more valuable than Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela.
According to a study commissioned by the CIES Football Observatory, 19-year-old Januzaj is worth €25 million, while Argentina international winger Lamela is valued at €20m.
Interestingly, both players’ values have increased since June, which is a surprise as neither has exactly been in great form.
Winger Januzaj, who is also adept at playing as an attacking midfielder, has made just 11 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, creating nine chances and having a pass accuracy of 82% in the process.
The Belgium international is a hugely gifted player who broke into the United first team last season, but he has struggled to impress manager Louis van Gaal so far this term.
Meanwhile, Lamela is enjoying a better time at Tottenham this time around and has looked livelier this season than he did in 2013-14.
However, the 22-year-old former AS Roma star continues to be frustratingly inconsistent, although he has scored one goal and created 30 chances in 19 league matches, while having a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 55%.
It should also be noted that, according to the CIES study, Lamela’s value has actually dropped since the summer of 2013, when Tottenham had to pay as much as £30m to AS Roma for his services.
