The Belgian is obviously a bright hope for the future but is currently struggling to play regular first-team football. That has seen the likes of Real Sociedad and now Villa apparently move in on the player.
Of course Villa have already done successful business over one of United's promising youngsters already. In the summer they agreed a season long loan deal for England international Tom Cleverley, which should give them an advantage in any chase for Januzaj.
Accept, that the very fact they have signed Cleverley on loan from Manchester United makes it currently impossible for Januzaj to join the Villans.
Premier League rules dictate that no Premier League club can have more than one player on loan from another Premier League club at any time - meaning that whilst Cleverley remains on loan at Aston Villa, Januzaj cannot join him.
Therefore the only way Januzaj can join Aston Villa on loan is if they send back the midfielder or sign him permanently, earlier than the expected approach at the end of the season.
Regardless, Louis van Gaal continues to maintain that Januzaj will not be loaned out by Manchester United anyway, so this deal certainly has more than a few stumbling blocks in the way.
