Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has reportedly given manager Louis van Gaal a much-needed injury boost.
Shaw was substituted at half-time when United took on Yeovil in the FA Cup third round after aggravating an ankle injury.
However the latest report claims van Gaal is hopeful he will be able to call on his £30million left-back, who has been blighted by setbacks since his summer move.
Shaw has made only 10 appearances since signing for United from the Saints, and he will want to build up a head of steam in 2015 and stake a claim for a permanent starting spot in a position that is ripe for the taking.
Ashley Young has played as a left wing-back at times this season but Shaw will want to cement the place and the latest news should help him do that.
The report claims United have conducted tests on the player and there is no new damage to his ankle.
The same report claims Daley Blind is in line to make his long-awaited return from injury following a knee problem.
