Tottenham Hotspur secured a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup game against Burnley last night thanks to a goal from Belgian wide man Nacer Chadli.
Mauricio Pochettino has been left frustrated this morning because his team now have to play a replay, which adds another fixture to their already congested schedule over the next couple of months.
He would have been hoping that his team could have finished the job in one go last night, but it wasn’t to be with too much distance between the positive performers and the below par showings from Spurs’ stars last night.
One player who has been guilty of inconsistency during his time at Spurs is Chadli himself.
He’s been in good form this season, but Spurs fans will want to see similar performances to last night and Arsenal away in the Premier League, on a more frequent basis.
His current impact on the side is keeping Andros Townsend on the subs bench and has led to speculation over whether the England international will have to consider a future away from White Hart Lane.
Chadli has the ability to play on either side of the team, occasionally popping up in central areas, which makes him very difficult to mark for the opposition.
If Tottenham are going to be successful over the next few months, there’s a good chance that Chadli is going to feature a lot whether he’s looking to add to his goal tally or provide the chances for the likes of Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado.
Here’s what Tottenham fans on Twitter made of Chadli’s performance.
No one can deny we love Lennon and would be hard to see him go, but he never managed a 9 goals/4 assist by Jan throughout his time. #chadli— Karim Salib (@karsalib) January 5, 2015
I'm not one to say I said so....but.... #chadli— Samuel Leon Powell (@sammylpowell) January 5, 2015
I am really impressed with #NacerChadli what a player he has turned out to be— Fahad Afridi (@37gunner) January 5, 2015
