Report: Nottingham Forest poised to sign Chelsea's Todd Kane on loan

Nottingham Forest are on the verge of completing a deal for Chelsea defender Todd Kane.

Nottingham Forest are set to sign Todd Kane on loan from Chelsea, according to John Percy of the Telegraph

Forest chairman Fawaz Al-Hasawi confirmed on Scope TV in Kuwait last night that the club were in talks with Chelsea over a player and it seems that Kane is the man in question.

The Reds have been placed under a transfer embargo, but they are able to bring in loan players and feel that Kane could enhance the squad.

The full-back, who can play on either side of the defence, has been on loan at Bristol City this season, but looks set to make the step up to the Championship

Kane played in the second tier with Blackburn Rovers, where he largely impressed, earlier in his career and Stuart Pearce will be hoping that he can solidify that back line considerably if a deal is confirmed.

The 21-year-old would join Forest at a time when the side are in dire form, having won just twice in their last 19 matches, and they will need him to hit the ground running.

Forest went into the season as promotion favourites, but they are now nine points away from the play-offs and will need a brilliant second half of the season to get into the top six.
