Said Berahino has been constantly linked with a move to Tottenham and Liverpool and according to Sky Sports, an offer that exceeds £20m could allow the forward to leave The Hawthorns.
Berahino has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns for much of the first half of the season after finding the net on eight occasions in the Premier League so far this term. He also scored four in the FA Cup third round win over Gateshead at the weekend.
But there have been constant rumours linking the 21-year-old forward with a move to either Tottenham Hotspur or Liverpool.
There have been a couple of reports this week suggesting that Spurs may not bid for the striker during this transfer window, whilst the Baggies dismissed rumours of a £23 million bid from Liverpool in the not so distant past on their twitter page.
It seems to be one of the transfer stories that won't go away for the time being but different sources appear to be reporting different things, with TalkSport last week reporting that a significantly lower fee would allow Berahino to depart to one of the Premier League's big boys.
There has been talk that both Spurs and Liverpool are determined to add a bit more firepower to their squads in the January window as they look to push for a Champions League place.
It will be interesting to see if anything does materialise by the way of a formal offer for Berahino this month, but every report that comes out seems to contradict another to an extent. It does, however, have the feeling of a story that will run right up until the deadline.
One thing is for sure, new Head Coach Tony Pulis will be reluctant to let such a promising talent depart.
