Manchester United transfer news: Defender negotiations; club want to sell striker

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United will reportedly sell Javier Hernandez in the summer regardless of what happens with Radamel Falcao.

The Mexican international is currently on loan at Real Madrid, where he has featured sparingly and made little impact thus far.

The Telegraph claims manager Louis van Gaal will attempt to sell Hernandez even if a permanent deal for Falcao is not agreed.

The Colombian is currently on loan from AS Monaco, with some reports suggesting United remain unconvinced about bringing him in for good next summer. But Real are said to be reluctant to agree a permanent deal of their own for Hernandez, meaning he could be heading back to United with huge doubts regarding his future.

In other news, ESPN reports that Burnley want to sign United defender Michael Keane permanently after his successful loan spell.

The young centre-back moved to Turf Moor in the summer and the latest story claims the two clubs are in negotiations that could see the youngster leave United for good.
