Jamie Carragher and Linda Pizzuti Henry react to Steven Gerrard’s heroics for Liverpool v AFC Wimbledon

Jamie Carragher, Linda Pizzuti Henry and ex-Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham have their say on Steven Gerrard’s performance for Liverpool against AFC Wimbledon.

Jamie Carragher has been singing the praises of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Former England international midfielder Gerrard was in superb form on Monday as he helped the Reds get the better of the AFC Wimbledon away from home.

The 34-year-old scored both goals as Liverpool won the FA Cup third-round tie at Kingsmeadow 2-1.

It was a brilliant performance from Gerrard, who scored the winner in the 62nd with one of his trademark free kicks.

Carragher, a former Liverpool teammate of Gerrard, was following the match and was impressed with his compatriot’s display.

The 36-year-old took to social networking site Twitter to once again criticise the Liverpool officials for deciding to let Gerrard leave at the end of the season.

Liverpool owner John W. Henry’s wife, Linda Pizzuti Henry, also took to Twitter to hail Gerrard’s heroics and his contribution to the club over the years.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham had harsh words for Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers and criticised the way he has handled Gerrard.

Liverpool will face Bolton Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
