Four new faces: Potential Tottenham starting XI at the end of January

Tottenham Hotspur could have a number of new players to call on by the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of players already this month, with the January transfer window open and Spurs likely to do more business than most.

A new striker is surely top of the agenda, although recent reports have claimed a new midfielder – in the form of Adrien Rabiot – could be the first to arrive.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino finally seems to have settled on the best possible line-up but there are still areas that need improving and now is the time to do so if possible.

Rabiot is said to be nearing a loan move from Paris Saint-Germain, with Tottenham’s new head of recruitment Paul Mitchell allegedly a big fan of the talented teenager. But who else could Spurs bring in this month, and what could that mean for their starting line-up come February?

Seydou Doumbia and Saido Berahino are two of the many strikers to have been linked with the North London club, with the CSKA Moscow player far more experienced but the Baggies youngster comfortable with – and adept at – Premier League football.

Of the two, Doumbia still seems the most likely, if Spurs can successfully negotiate his asking price down.

DeAndre Yedlin has already arrived following his loan spell at Seattle Sounders while Miguel Lopes has also been linked with a move from Sporting Lisbon; although Spurs are far more likely to focus on other areas of the pitch than add to their growing list of right-backs.

Then there is Paul-Georges Ntep – a 22-year-old left winger who currently plays for Rennes and is said to be closing in on a cut-price move to Spurs.

So when all is said and done, could this be Tottenham’s starting XI in just a few short weeks:

Lloris, Yedlin, Vertonghen, Fazio, Davies, Rabiot, Mason, Ntep, Eriksen, Kane, Doumbia
