Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has accused newly-appointed Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew of being arrogant.
Apparently, the former Newcastle United boss did not like walking 150 yards from the coach drop-off to Dover’s ground for the FA Cup third-round tie on Sunday.
The Sun claims that Pardew found it “ridiculous” that he and his players had to walk for 20 minutes, and Parmenter has now hit out at the 53-year-old.
“It is complete arrogance for him to expect us to make special arrangements just because it’s him,” he said.
“I don’t know what Pardew was doing for 20 minutes. You can crawl up there on all fours in a couple of minutes. He was also very rude to staff.”
It seems that Pardew did not leave a good impression on the Dover officials, but one doubts that he will lose sleep over it.
Palace eased to a 4-0 win at the Crabble Athletic Ground, and the London club are unlikely to meet the Conference Premier side anytime soon in any competition.
