New Wolverhampton Wanderers signing Jordan Graham has taken to Twitter to post an emotional farewell message to former club Aston Villa upon completing a permanent switch to Molineux.
The winger was nevertheless a well-regarded prospect while coming up the ranks with the West Midlands outfit, and moved to thank all at Villa Park for helping shape his footballing development.
Graham is still to make his senior bow for Wolves, having struggled with a thigh problem in recent weeks, but has previously tasted first-team football during loan spells with Ipswich Town and Bradford City, respectively, last season.
Having also represented England at both Under-16 and Under-17 level, he remains one to watch for the future, and told the club’s official website that he hopes his move will allow him the chance to make his mark.
"I can’t thank Villa enough for what they have done for me. I have been there since I was eight – a good 11 or 12 years – and they have made me the player I am today,” he said.
“There are no hard feelings from me at all, it was just time to move on and try and play some more first-team football.
“For whatever reason, it didn’t look like it was going to happen there. But with every coach there and every player, what they have done has been amazing for me and now it’s time for a new challenge.
“And that is to try and get to the first team set-up at Wolves. Even in the five losses, the team had the gaffer brought in Dom and then Kortney.
“That shows that even in hard times, he’s got trust in the younger players which is great for us to see.
“It motivates young players to know that the gaffer is not going to leave them out just because of their age.
“That’s really good for me as well and hopefully I will do well enough to get an opportunity.”
