The former Bahia attacker opened the scoring in the Portuguese champions’ 3-0 win over Penafiel yesterday.
A number of European leagues have returned to action this weekend after the winter break, including the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Domestic champions Benfica put in an authoritative performance to win 3-0 away to struggling Penafiel and maintain their lead at the top of the table.
The Estadio da Luz side’s star man is quickly becoming Anderson Talisca, who was signed from relative obscurity in the summer and has gone on to delight onlookers in his first six months in Europe.
The Brazilian attacker netted Benfica’s opening goal on 37 minutes, as can be seen below, to take his total to nine domestic goals for the campaign.
Talisca, who has been compared to both Rivaldo and Yaya Toure for his distinctive running style and powerful left foot, is already all over Premier League scouting radars.
The 20-year-old has recently been called up to the Brazil squad and it is believed that Chelsea lead the queue of his suitors.
With another goal and his continued excellent performances for Benfica, it seems like only a matter of time before the Brazilian star is plying his trade at one of Europe’s top clubs.
