Twitter went into meltdown as David Moyes masterminded a 1-0 victory over Spanish giants Barcelona on Sunday night.
The former Manchester United and Everton manager had a mixed start to life in Spain prior to Sunday night, with two wins, four draws and one loss, but he was able to collect his third win in style, against Barcelona, thanks to a Jordi Alba own goal in the second minute.
The unfortunate Alba rose well to clear a dangerous cross, but was unable to put any direction on the ball. Facing his own goal, he got in front of the Sociedad attacker and headed the ball, with power, into the top right corner.
Despite recording 73 percent of the possession and hitting 17 shots on goal, Luis Enrique's men were unable to get on the scoresheet at the right end and left the Anoeta Stadium defeated.
After the game, supporters of many clubs in England, most notably Liverpool and Manchester United, reacted to Moyes' triumph which happened on the day Louis van Gaal's United only just saw off League One side Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.
The ideal post-match interview now for Sky's Sociedad v Barca coverage would surely be Andy Tate on Luis Enrique #goodnight— Sam Wallace (@SamWallaceIndy) January 4, 2015

The victory meant Real Madrid were able to keep their top spot in La Liga with a game in hand on second placed Barcelona. Real Sociedad moved to 13th in the table with 18 points from 17 games.
