Tottenham Hotspur are being tipped to move for Sporting right-back right-back Miguel Lopes according to A Bola.
Portuguese newspaper and website A Bola claims Tottenham Hotspur already have a man on the ground to try and do a deal for right-back Miguel Lopes.
A Bola claims Tottenham were keen on doing a deal for the Sporting star last summer, but pulled out of pressing ahead for a transfer because of concerns over his immediate fitness.
However, with Lopes returning from the treatment room, the Portuguese source claims Tottenham are ready to pounce.
“The side were interested from the summer but decided to postpone any contract offer to see what sort of condition he was in after a long injury,” reports A Bola.
“With Lopes reinstated, an official will already be on the ground in search of information on the Portuguese international.”
Tottenham have been tipped to press on with some potential signings in the January window, but a right-back isn’t thought to be a main priority for the club.
Should the club push on and sign Lopes, then it has to be a sure fire sign that Kyle Naughton is staring at an exit from the club.
Lopes would provide Mauricio Pochettino with three good right-back choices, (Kyle Walker and DeAndre Yedlin included) with Eric Dier possessing the ability to cover, which could see Naughton pushed down to fourth choice in his position and leaving his first team chances looking bleak.
