Newcastle United defender Lubo Satka has been reflecting on his debut for the first team.
The Slovakian youngster came on as a replacement for Davide Santon in the second half of the FA Cup third-round tie against Leicester City on Saturday.
The 19-year-old gave a decent account of himself at the King Power Stadium, but it was not enough for Newcastle to prevent a 1-0 defeat.
Satka was understandably delighted to have made his debut for the Magpies’ first team, but he was disappointed with the result.
"It's a massive competition for the club and the fans, and to get knocked out at the first round we are in, everyone is very disappointed," the teenager told Newcastle’s official website.
"I think we controlled the game quite well, had a good amount of possession and created some good chances…
"Getting on the pitch was an amazing experience. At first, I didn't believe I was coming on. Everyone just told me to treat it like any other game, go out there and enjoy it, and that's what I tried to do. You have to do that - you cannot get caught up in the occasion.
"It's hopefully the first appearance of many but there is a lot of hard work in front of me. I'm just going to keep working hard, pushing on and see what happens.”
Newcastle are back in action on Saturday when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. The Magpies are currently 10th in the league table with 27 points from 20 matches.
