Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has been singing the praises of teammate Radamel Falcao.
Colombia international Falcao has come into form in recent weeks and is starting to show the quality that prompted United to sign him on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old was on target for United against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.
It was Falcao’s third goal in 12 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, leading Mata to highlight his quality inside the opposition’s box.
“We started 2015 with a Premier League game at Stoke City,” Mata wrote on his blog. “It’s always a tricky one, not only because of the opponent but also because it gets very windy in that stadium.
“We conceded a goal very early into the game, in a corner kick, and we had to fight back to tie the score. Radamel showed his outstanding instinct as a striker. He is spectacular inside the box."
Falcao has struggled with fitness problems this season, but he remains a top-class striker who is deadly in the box.
Despite his lack of goals, United fans should maintain their faith in the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid striker.
He is a goal machine, when fully fit.
