Kris Commons says that he wants to sign a new contract with Celtic.
Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has said that he will work hard to earn a new contract with the club.
The 31-year-old’s current contract with the Scottish giants runs out at the end of the season, and negotiations on a new deal are reportedly not going well.
There have been reports that Commons could be sold this month, but the player himself is hopeful of earning a new deal.
When asked by Sky Sports about any movement on his contract situation, Commons said: “No, not yet, no. I have to keep working hard and then see what happens.
“I have got rent to pay so I need to get some money in,” he added with a smile. “I am working hard to get a contract and then let’s see what happens. I will keep working hard.”
Commons was speaking following Celtic’s 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Monday.
The win saw the Bhoys reduce the gap between themselves and leaders Aberdeen to just a point with a game in hand.
