Nottingham Forest supporters have been left largely disappointed by the club's decision to allow Dan Harding to join Milwall on loan.
The experienced left-back may not have played very often for the Reds this campaign, but their fans have still been impressed with his displays when he has been on the pitch, and his exit has been greeted with widespread dissatisfaction.
Although Harding is not a stand-out Championship left-back, he is a steady performer and Forest fans have been left baffled by Stuart Pearce's apparent willingness to allow him to leave.
The 31-year-old has played 10 times for Forest this season and his reliability is something that the club's supporters feel is lacking from their current starting line-up.
At the moment, Danny Fox is the Reds' preferred choice for the left-back berth but he has failed to impress and many felt that Harding should have been given more opportunities.
His departure today has only added to the feeling of discontent around the City Ground, with Pearce's side having won just two of their last 19 matches.
Harding is expected to go straight into the Millwall first team to cover for the loss of Scott Malone, who left to join Cardiff City.
Here is the best reaction from Forest fans on Twitter to Harding's departure.
Dan Harding gone that means he will be player of the season for millwall because players that leave us always seem to play better #nffc— Slad007 (@sdodhy01) January 5, 2015
Getting rid of Harding is a joke. done nothing wrong this season— Dan Thomas (@DanThomas66) January 5, 2015
Harding is 1 of the worst players I've ever seen in a red shirt. Just cos Fox has been told to lump it, doesn't mean Harding's better #nffc— Christian Brown (@Chris78901) January 5, 2015

The only reason I can think of #nffc getting rid of Harding is we have another left back incoming, or Cohen has made a miraculous recovery.— Niall Page (@NiallPage) January 5, 2015
It must knock Harding's confidence massively to be sent out on loan looking at Fox's performances. Poor sod! #nffc— Jack Bryan (@jackbryan8) January 5, 2015
Harding hardly puts a foot wrong all season when he's played and he sent out on loan and fox has been useless but stays??? #nffc— Kieran Blood (@KGTM_) January 5, 2015
Harding was never the most gifted player, but he always gave 100% more than the rest of the team in recent weeks #nffc— Matthew Beardsley (@tweetsbyared) January 5, 2015
