Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio has said that he and his teammates need to play with “Intensity and aggression” against Burnley today.
North London outfit Spurs will take on fellow Premier League club Burnley at Turf Moor in the third round of the FA Cup this evening.
The visiting team will head into the game as favourites, and Fazio believes that they need to play the same way they did against Chelsea on New Year’s Day.
“It’s another competition but we need to continue our intensity and aggression on the pitch,” the 27-year-old told Tottenham’s official website.
“It will be a similar game to when we played Burnley two weeks ago in the league. They played some good football and showed fight, but we need to win this type of game.
“All teams we come up against are different but we need to play the same as we did against Chelsea on the pitch and if we do that we can compete against any team.”
Tottenham gave one of their best performances of the season against Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Thursday, and it will be interesting to see if they can maintain that level today.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make a number of changes to the team, and that could affect the way they play against Burnley.
Nevertheless, Tottenham should have more than enough to win today. Anything else will be a surprise.
