Chelsea morning news: Mourinho praises leaving star, Juventus to poach Ramires

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has praised Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer as he departs for Leicester.

Schwarzer has been a more than capable, experienced back up ever since he linked up with the Blues.

“I want to publicly thank Mark Schwarzer because he’s leaving us and he was a fantastic guy for us,” Mourinho told the Chelsea website.

Juventus are being tipped to make a move for Chelsea midfielder Ramires.

Ramires is reportedly seen as a potential replacement for French star Paul Pogba, who continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

LGS claim that Juve have made signing the Brazilian their top transfer priority.

Mourinho has also back tracked on initial criticism of referee Kevin Friend during the FA Cup win against Watford.

Mourinho was initially unhappy when Friend didn’t award Chelsea a penalty before the ball fell to striker Loic Remy.

“He told me that if Remy did not control the ball or if the ball goes over the bar or the ball was lost then he would have given a penalty. So it was good refereeing,” said Mourinho.
