A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Saint-Etienne defender Loic Perrin has admitted he’s been contacted personally over a potential move to Arsenal.

The 29-year-old has been tipped to link up with the Gunners, as Arsene Wenger continues his search for defensive reinforcements.

“I was contacted personally, but for the moment, there is still no contact with Saint-Etienne,” he said.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal are close to a potential double fitness boost over Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini.

The two midfielders are being tipped to make possible returns to the team for the upcoming game against Stoke City.

“Mathieu Flamini could be back, Aaron Ramsey has a little chance. Nobody else,” said the boss.

Manchester City are set to challenge Arsenal’s interest in signing Julian Draxler from FC Schalke, according to reports.

Arsenal previously tried to do a deal for the £25 million rated German before he opted to commit his long term future to the German club.

City have the potential advantage of being able to include Matija Nastasic in the same deal.
